Registration is Open for the 2026 Oregon PRIMA Annual Fall Conference

Join Oregon PRIMA at the Best Western Agate Beach in Newport, Oregon, from September 30^th to October 2^nd for three days of education, networking, and fun. This year’s theme, Risk Managers Never Say Die!, pays tribute to iconic films made in Oregon, including The Goonies, Free Willy, and many others, while celebrating the resilience, creativity, and determination of risk management professionals.

Whether you are new to risk management or an experienced practitioner, the conference will offer practical, engaging sessions to help you navigate today’s evolving risks. Topics include creating a culture of civility, volunteer risk management, abuse prevention, critical building systems, and other emerging public-sector risk issues. All educational sessions qualify for credit toward the Oregon PRIMA Risk Management Certification Program.

We are pleased to welcome keynote speakers Sarah Curtis, who will address building a culture of civility and leading through change, and Kacey McCallister, who will share his powerful story of overcoming extraordinary obstacles and finding strength through adversity.

Registration, Dates & Costs: Conference Registration is $225 for Members, and $300 for Non-Members. Banquet guest tickets are $65. A $55 late registration fee begins September 7^th. The conference runs September 30^th - October 2^nd, 2026, and registration closes September 23^rd, 2026.   

Lodging: A room block is available Wednesday, September 30^th and October 1^st at Best Western Agate Beach (3019 North Coast Highway Newport, OR 97365). Cost is $159 a night for a hillside king or double queen or $209 a night for an ocean-view king or double queen room. Special Events: On Wednesday afternoon, attendees may choose between a Marine Discovery Bay/River Tour (75 passenger limit, launches from Newport historic bayfront) or a Sip-and-Paint activity (on-site at BW Agate Beach). Thursday evening's banquet will be held at the Newport Aquarium, where Oregon PRIMA will enjoy exclusive after-hours access to the facility. If you'd like to bring a guest to the banquet dinner, purchase a banquet guest ticket for $65 - just add a Banquet Guest Ticket at registration or contact [email protected] to add after registration.

Meals: Registration includes lunch on Wednesday - breakfast, lunch and Banquet dinner on Thursday - breakfast on Friday. Please include any dietary restrictions during registration and we will do our best to accommodate them. 

Presentation Materials: Presentation materials will be posted to our website as they become available.

Attire: Business casual or casual attire is encouraged throughout the conference. We recommend dressing in layers, as meeting room temperatures can vary. For the Thursday banquet, attendees are invited to embrace the conference theme by dressing as a character from a movie filmed in Oregon. Think The Goonies, Free Willy, The Shining, Twilight, Wild, Homeward Bound, or the Ring.
